Closed-Loop Manufacturing

Of course, we’ve been talking about all the environmental benefits of PVC roofing – including closed-loop manufacturing. But what exactly is it?

The OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) of the PVC roofing system takes responsibility for the loop process.  In this process post-consumer waste (old pvc roofs, scrap, waste from other manufacturers, etc) are taken and incorporated into the supply chain. This closed-loop process helps keep PVC out of landfills and reduces the need for virgin materials to be manufactured. PVC recycling is well-established in Europe and becoming more available in the United States.

The single-ply PVC membrane installed by LaFerney Commercial Roofing takes PVC roofing membrane at the end of their useful life, scrap from manufacturing and installations, and other PVC “waste” to recycle into new PVC membrane roofs.  This reduces carbon emissions, waste, and energy consumption. This is the only roofing material which can be recycled back into roofing products.
